About our administrator roles 

You can use our different administrator roles to help get the most out of your membership.

Overview of each administrator role

Here is an overview of what each role can do on The Key:

 

Organisation admin

(for all members) 

Has access to features that help manage users within your organisation. 

Organisation admins are able to: 

  • Remove colleagues
  • Appoint or remove other organisation admins
  • Complete account setup

We recommend your headteacher, office staff and school business manager are appointed as organisation admins. 

 

Safeguarding training admins 

(for all members with The Key Safeguarding) 

Has access to features that help manage safeguarding training within your organisation.

Safeguarding training admins are able to: 

  • View who has completed which safeguarding eLearning courses
  • Review results for safeguarding eLearning courses
  • Appoint or remove other safeguarding training admins

We recommend your headteacher, DSL and any other DSLs are appointed as safeguarding training admins

 

Group admin

(for trusts with a trust membership)

Has access to features that help manage users across all organisations within the trust membership.

Group admins are able to:

  • See, add and remove colleagues from any organisation within the trust membership
  • Appoint or remove organisation admins from from any organisation within the trust membership
  • Complete account setup for any organisation within the trust membership
  • Appoint or remove other group admins

 

Group safeguarding training admin

(for trusts with a trust membership including The Key Safeguarding)

Has access to features that help manage safeguarding training across all organisations within the trust membership.

Group safeguarding training admins are able to: 

  • View who in your central team has completed which safeguarding eLearning courses, and what results they got
  • Review and download safeguarding eLearning and assessment results from across all organisations within the trust membership
  • Appoint or remove other group safeguarding admins



Governance admins 

(for all members with GovernorHub) 

GovernorHub has separate administrator roles to The Key.  

To view your GovernorHub admins, you can log into your GovernorHub account and go to the Members section in the Governing Board tab. If you need to setup admins on GovernorHub, then please email support@governorhub.com 

  • Your clerk or governance professional is usually the main admin on GovernorHub - although a chair or school leader may also have admin rights.
    Admins make sure the board is running efficiently and records are up-to-date. It’s their job to:
    Manage access; adding and removing users
  • Assign roles and update user details (e.g. appointments and terms of office)
  • Oversee document storage, board compliance and set up specific board confirmations (I confirm I have…)
  • Keep the board constitution up-to-date and look after historical records
  • Add meeting events and track attendance
