How do I upload custom training to the training hub?

Written by Gareth Edwards

You can now upload your own custom training to the Training Hub and assign it to your staff, just as you do with courses from The Key. To do this:

  1. From your dashboard or the training library, click “Create custom training”

  2. In the form, add a name, description/instructions (optional), and upload a file or add a link

  3. Click ‘Create’

  4. Your new training item will now appear in your training library, ready to assign to your staff

Remember, all the Group training admins (or Training admins, if you are a school) at your organisation will have permission to view, edit, delete and assign any training you upload. You should never add training materials that contain sensitive, confidential or personal details.

What files can I upload and assign on the Training Hub?

  • PDF files

  • MS Office file type (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Links

The training I want to share is not a PDF

Video

If you have a video you want to share, host it on a shared drive, or on a video sharing service such as Vimeo or YouTube. You can then share this video using the ‘Link’ option.

Powerpoint or Google Slides

These can be converted to a PDF and then uploaded.. Please see the following instructions if you are using MS PowerPoint or Google Slides.

MS PowerPoint

  1. Open your presentation

  2. Go to File > Export…

  1. Select PDF from the dropdown

  2. Click ‘Export’

Google Slides

  1. Open your slides

  2. Go to File > Download > PDF document (.pdf)

Documents

These can be saved or exported as a PDF and then uploaded to Training Hub using your chosen document editor (e.g. Microsoft Word).
