A spokesperson from each organisation confirmed that neither Ofsted nor the DfE specify how safeguarding training must be delivered, only that it must take place at induction and be updated regularly.
However, training should be in line with advice from the school's local safeguarding partners.
It is advised schools check their local safeguarding partners' guidance to determine whether the course is suitable and whether any additions or amendments are needed.
Assuming the local safeguarding partners' advice is met, our INSET pack can be used to help schools meet their statutory safeguarding training requirements.
For peace of mind, the materials were developed in partnership with safeguarding experts at One Education and the content is based upon the Department for Education’s latest safeguarding guidance documents (Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working together to safeguard children).
