When are the INSET training packs made available, and how can I stay updated?

The Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) INSET training pack is an essential resource for schools to deliver annual safeguarding training. We release these every year, however the dates are dependant on when the information is released from the Department for Education and the amount of changes that needed to be made.

We work hard to publish all information as soon as we feel it is ready, and when we are happy to it offers all the support you need.

Expected Timeline for Updates

The INSET training pack does not have an exact release date yet. However, it is typically made available during the summer holidays, around July or August, to allow schools sufficient time to plan for the new academic year. The guidance comes into statutory force on 1 September every year, and the training pack will be ready for use before this date.

How to Stay Informed About Updates

To ensure you are notified when the updated materials are available, you can use the platform’s notification features. For example, you can save the relevant article or page for later, which will alert you once the INSET pack is published. This is a convenient way to stay updated without needing to check manually.

Importance of Aligning with Statutory Guidance

The KCSIE guidance is a statutory requirement for schools, and the INSET training pack is designed to help schools meet these obligations effectively. Using the updated pack ensures that staff training is aligned with the latest safeguarding standards, which is critical for maintaining a safe and compliant educational environment. By following these steps and staying informed, schools can ensure they are prepared for the academic year and meet all safeguarding requirements.
